9/11-The Biggest Change for America

So September 11th came and went, but did anyone really notice? That day changes so many things for the American Citizen and for the world yet the only time it's remembered anymore is actually on September 11th if anyone actually pays attention.

Immediately after 9/11 this country became very united but now we could careless and take less part in out countries law making. Shortly after 9/11 the Patriot Act was signed and basically gave all out rights over to the government, allowing them to tap telephone lines and read e-mails easier. I understand that they do not listen in on every conversation, but thats not the point, it was so easy for that bill to be passed and now it's even easier. The government thinks they can do what ever they like....and you know what? They're right.

The citizens of this country dont act as if they want a democracy anymore, they are to wrapped up in their own little lives to take part in the governments decisions. This democracy is supposed to be of the people, by the people and for the people; but instead its uneducated people voting in greedy politicians who then vote for the important stuff. So just because we vote in the senators doesnt mean they represent us, especially considering how much the population has grown, two from every state cant possibly represent this country actually.

The citizens of this country need to take it back. Im not proposing a bloody battle for power but let the ideas of the next generation start playing, rather than saying the children are our future. Many of these "children" are turning 18 and wont get the chance to change the future because they wont be children any more, and according to adults only the future leaders can do anything about our crises, why cant they do anything now?!

Police of the World- Police of US!

So, many Americans know that the United States likes to get their big fat nose in everyone elses business. We (the government) have to make sure that every other country in the world behaves, or else we come in with our guns and say "Stop, or we'll shoot!" I do not understand how its our business. Before any of our policing happened, other countries could careless about us, now most of them probably hate us; (Isn't that nice) causing us to constantly be paranoid that someones gonna try and attack us. It is not our place to start revolutions and stir up trouble! Then we're just copying what countries did at the beginning of Americas history, and doing it for personal gain. I understand thats human nature but if America preaches perfection why not at least attempt to practice it?

Now Im gonna address the topic alil closer to home. The American government is corrupt. I dont care who the president is. It's corrupt. If i recall correctly congress can practically have life terms as long as they get voted in again. They use the power they have to keep that power. And according to what i learned in American History they are the ones voting stuff in, the president can veto it...but come on, why should he? His peers are all saying let it pass. We need people who can relate to the average American citizens, not stuffy old, rich, and powerful people.

Then its those old stuffy people that control our school system. Regulating what students learn. Did you know that in my school district they are sending lesson plans to every single teacher, and they have to follow those plans, excluding AP classes. Then there are embedded assessments for underclassmen every other week or so for the FCAT. The whole point of school is to learn, not be drilled the same thing over and over again.

12th Grade..The Final Frontier

So this concludes the 1st week of my last year of high school. And as usual the school cant do anything right. Id say at least 50% of the senior class had to get schedule changes, including me. I got put in to chorus....how fun...not! Sooooo I had them put anatomy in the place of chorus and Drama 4 where its supposed to be 1)on my schedule and 2) during 4th hour!!! :)

1) English 4 Hon
2)Anatomy Hon
3) Ap Econ/gov
4)Drama 4
5)Ap Euro
6)AP Psych
7)AP Environmental Science

Pretty nice schedule in my eyes. Sadly I only have one of my three besties in my classes. :( But looks like a great year.

Now i just need to work on college....grrrr

Change

As I was lying in bed last night, I started thinking about the impending future. I have finally gotten used to high school, finally gotten the hang of balancing my classes and having a good time, finally able to take the classes I want to take rather than the classes that I have to take (one of the perks of being a Senior I guess), and finally am with the guy I've liked since the 8th grade. And all that is gonna change in less then a year.

I'm not sure I'll continue blogging when I get into college...might not have the time or the interest..or just might be too lazy like I've been this summer. Ive been considering keeping a journal/diary instead since that s basically what this blog has been, but censored...

Dont even know what I'm going to do for college, I've been considering community college for the 1st 2 years and maybe get my degree to be a dental hygienist/assistant...that would mean 4 years of community college. Another thing I've been thinking about is applying to UF and if I dont get accepted do community college...but thats probably stupid. Thing is I dont know what I want to do...Acting, Dental Hygienist, Environmental Lawyer, History Teacher/Professor, or Psychologist.

I've always been good with people, listening to them, helping them, I get along with almost everyone...I'm passionate about helping the environment, and I enjoy acting; its fun.

But I'm smart...and my friends are smart, sometimes I think about the peer pressure that goes in to college, where to go, what to study, staying close to friends...but we cant base our lives on everyone elses....and in the spring at the NHS banquet the little pamphlet had all the graduating seniors and what college they were going to...and I dont want **CC to be there.

Last year went by extraordinarily fast... and I dont want that to happen this year...I'll miss everyone too much..I dont want to go out in to the real world, I would miss my bedroom too much. lol. Its really comfortable and how I want it now. Can't take my room to college with me either...

So Whats Next?...

COLLEGE!!!!

Okay...so its not right around the corner...but its the next thing. Scouting out colleges, applying to the few that catch your eye, sending in test scores, waiting for their answers, and setting up housing when you decide.

Currently im in the applying stage i guess, and have found out that alot of the schools want the application to be done online. I was so looking forward to filling them all out by hand. I know that wastes paper but its practically a tradition.

Also i wouldn't quite trust online, because most applications ask for your social security number and what if they get hacked?

Well back to the procrastinators grindstone. :)

Hmmm..

I just felt like typing so lets see where this goes.

Class Of 2010!!! Seniors babyy!!!!

So, now that thats out of the way...I realize I havent posted anything in a long time. Nothing has really happened thats inspired me to blog...ohh blogs are great inspiration for college essays. I wrote an essay by using an entry...so you should start writing a blog, it gives a more personal voice to the essay...like its you talking.

So Im looking for one act plays to do a scene from at Districts next year. hmmm...theres nothing for me to ponder...thats sad.

Maybe I'll think of something soon.

Instant Gratification!!!

So I am finally getting to write this post, after waiting like 3 weeks, ironic huh?

So when I went on my cruise, I noticed something..my nephew always wanted stuff...and he wanted it NOW! Most people are like this. If they have to wait more than 30 minutes they lose interest in what they wanted. Its all about speed nowadays. "Fast&Free shipping" "Instant Messaging" "DVR" They all allow us to get what we want when we want. Sure DVR you usually wait to see the show but you skip all those pesky commercials.

With new, newer, and newest technology out there things get faster by the day. We have a 4G phone now! 4G!!! Why do we need that!? I noticed my little instant gratification kick too, with IM-ing/texting if i dont get an answer back within 30 seconds I get ancy and soon distracted. 30 seconds is alot of time; especially for a teenage with homework, college looming in the distance, and drama to be fixed, people cant afford to waste time no mater how small.

soo Im tired...I just got home from a Nickelback concert (which was amazing) and I just wanted to post this, since i was in the mood...which is weird.

Solving The Worlds (Current) Probelms

So recently I have been thinking about how to fix the recession and the threat of war, and this is how:

1) Kid Leaders- think about it...if kids ruled the world the biggest argument would be over candy, and I dont mean kids like 13 but like 5-10. Then once there 10 get a new kid. A friend of mine actually said what about corruption, but this is what we'll do the kids have advisers that are teens and they stay advisers for about a year. The only things adults do in the government is approve bills and such.

2) A Money-less Nation- No money at all. This works by having people work, doing the jobs they would normally do. That way we can get whatever we want, when ever we want. In the beinging it would be chaos because people would want everything they always wanted, but then when people realize that they dont need stuff, it'll cool down.

So yea..Im done with that idea. Next time, Instant Gratification!! haha...Im gonna have fun with that.
